About Straten Schemel
I get enterprise AI, cloud, and security software into production for customers. I also coach distance runners in Truckee, CA.
I'm Straten. For 15 years I've been the engineer who gets complex software working in real customer environments: employee #12 at SignalFx, then Cloudflare, PerimeterX, the Office of the CTO at Wiz, Zscaler, and Unstructured. Today I build AI agent tooling and help teams put it into production.
Outside of work I coach distance runners, from Truckee High athletes to adults chasing marathon goals.

Home is Truckee, at 6,224 feet, with my wife Ella, our kids Jasper and Winona, and Meatloaf the cat. When I'm not working or coaching, I'm on the trails above Donner Summit, on a mountain bike, or doing improv, and I'm working toward my pilot's license.
